Sectors

Made by joining seven 1860’s railways, The West Coast Rail Trail is about meeting local people, artisans, cuisine and experiences and joining them together with a bike. The mostly Flat Trail reveals NZ’s most stunning scenery (it’s the West Coast after all!) and can be enjoyed by anyone.

It’s not about the bike! But you’ll see and do more taking a ride on the flat and smooth trails, with our comfort bikes. There’s mirror lakes, alpine views, rainforests, a penguin colony (seasonal), cafes, bars, fishing and local artisans to see on the way along with a varied selection of activities.

Totals: Distance- 126 km’s Time- 4 days

See below for an overview of the Rail Trail and scroll down for more information on each sector.
